Amprolium is a coccidiostat, derived from modification of thiamine. It acts to blocks the intracellular transportation of thiamine within coccidian parasites.

As an alternative to toltrazuril, amprolium is used in cats for various causes of coccidiosis, at recommended doses of 60-100 mg/kg orally every 24 hours for 5 days[1].
