Blindness is the lack of sight, which may occur in one or both eyes.
In dogs, there are numerous causes, including:
- Acute trauma
- Sudden acquired retinal degeneration syndrome - Hyperadrenocorticism, neurological diseases
- Cataracts
- Retinal detachment
- Progressive retinal atrophy
- Congenital stationary night blindness
- Cone degeneration
- Endophthalmitis
- Progressive rod cone degeneration
- Hemeralopia
- Infections

- - larval migrans - Toxocara spp, Dirofilaria immitis
- Drug reactions - enrofloxacin, gentamicin
