It is also indicated for long-term antimicrobial therapy such as occurs in gingivitis.

Indications include skin infections such as superficial pyoderma, and folliculitis; respiratory infections such as tracheobronchitis, bronchitis and pneumonia; urogenital infections such as cystitis and pyelonephritis; otitis externa and otitis media; gastrointestinal tract infections; osteomyelitis and puerperal infections.

Activity has been demonstrated against a wide range of bacterial organisms including Staphylococcus spp, Streptococcus spp, E. coli, Pasteurella spp, Clostridium spp, Bacteroides spp and Bordetella spp.

Recommended dose for dogs is 10 mg/kg orally once daily.
