Kamofsky's performance criteria

Kamofsky's performance criteria are used as a rough guide to determine suitability of canine patients to chemotherapy[1].

Grade Criteria
0 Fully active, performs at predisease level
1 Activity less than predisease level; able to function as acceptable pet
2 Severely compromised activity; ambulatory only to point of eating, sleeping, and consistently eliminating in acceptable areas
3 Completely disabled; must be force fed; unable to defecate or urinate in acceptable areas
4 Dead

Most canine candidates undergoing chemotherapy should be from grade 0 - 2 prior to initiation of any drug therapy.
