Pyridostigmine is a long-acting anticholinesterase inhibitor used for treatment of canine myasthenia gravis.

This drug is sometimes given in conjunction with mycophenolate mofetil to improve survival rates in MG-affected dogs[1].

This drug can also be used safely in conjunction with azathioprine and prednisolone in refractory MG cases[2].

Recommended dose rate in dogs is 1 - 3 mg/kg given orally two or three times daily[3].
