Adult Sergentomyia spp fly

Sergentomyia spp are a hematophagous parasitic fly which can transmit Leishmania spp.

Only females are parasitic, with male being free-living.

Species which are parasitic to dogs include:

  • Sergentomyia koloshanensis[1]
  • Sergentomyia barraudi
  • Sergentomyia squamirostris
