Bromhexine hydrochloride

From Dog

Bromhexine hydrochloride is a mucolytic agent used as an expectorant in bronchitis, asthma and mild cases of kennel cough.

The rationale for its usage is based on its ability to decrease the viscosity of mucus as well as their ability to stimulate mucus production[1].

Recommended dose rate in dogs is 2 mg/kg given orally every 12 hours for 7 - 10 days.
