Cediopsylla spp

Adult Cediopsylla simplex[1]

Cediopsylla spp are a common hematophagous flea parasite of rabbits which has been reported on hunting dogs.

Species which are pathogenic to dogs include:

  • Cediopsylla simplex[2]

Clinical signs include pruritus and localized dermatitis associated with flea activity.

Treatment is usually effective with a range of insecticidal drugs such as fipronil and permethrins.
