Chlorhexidine is a chemical antiseptic effective on both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, particularly:

This product has shown to be superior to other topical antimicrobials such as benzoyl peroxide, and equal in efficacy to miconazole[1][2].

Chlorhexidine is usually available as surgical washes or shampoos for use in topical dermatitis, cellulitis and pyoderma, such as juvenile pyoderma.
