Dicloxacillin

From Dog

Dicloxacillin is a synthetic narrow-spectrum beta-lactam penicillin drug used for treatment of bacterial infections.

Dicloxacillin is similar in activity to flucloxacillin and is more acid-stable than many other penicillins but is less potent than benzylpenicillin against non-β-lactamase-producing Gram-positive bacteria.

Recommended dose rate in dogs is 10 - 50 mg/kg given orally or parenterally every 6 - 8 hours[1].
