Calcium disodium edetate

Calcium disodium edetate (EDTA) is an anticoagulant chelating drug used in collection tubes for blood samples.

It is also used as a parenteral therapy for mercury and lead toxicity in dogs.

In lead toxicity, the recommended dose rate is 100 - 120 mg/kg/day for 3 days, given subcutaneously.
