Kamofsky's performance criteria

Kamofsky's performance criteria are used as a rough guide to determine suitability of canine patients to chemotherapy[1].
Grade | Criteria |
0 | Fully active, performs at predisease level |
1 | Activity less than predisease level; able to function as acceptable pet |
2 | Severely compromised activity; ambulatory only to point of eating, sleeping, and consistently eliminating in acceptable areas |
3 | Completely disabled; must be force fed; unable to defecate or urinate in acceptable areas |
4 | Dead |
Most canine candidates undergoing chemotherapy should be from grade 0 - 2 prior to initiation of any drug therapy.
