From Dog

Neomycin is a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic similar to kanamycin and is used for a wide-range of bacterial diseases in dogs.

This antibiotic drug has excellent activity against Gram-negative bacteria, but only partial activity against Gram-positive bacteria.

It is commonly used as a topical antimicobial in eye and ear infections in dogs[1].

Neomycin is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and has been used as a preventive measure for hepatic encephalopathy and hypercholesterolemia.
