Cleidodiscus spp

Cleidodiscus spp is an important monogene parasite found on the gills of channel catfish.

The adults in these genera are ectoparasitic on the gills or body surface of fish. The adults release eggs from which the ciliated larva called an oncomiracidium hatches. The oncomiracdium has a haptor and can swim until contacting a host.
