Bacterial diseases affect all animals and guinea pigs are no less immune or unique to their onslaught. bacteria can cause varying ranges of illness in cattle from mild dermatitis to sepsis and death.
Appropriate antimicrobial therapy should be based on isolation and culture and sensitivity of causative bacteria. Guinea pigs are highly sensitive to many common antibiotics, so they should be used cautiously when treating infectious diseases
